A second generation Basque-American, raised in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, Etienne was educated at New Mexico State University. He has taken a lifetime of Wild West tales of his own and others and turned them into a series of rib-tickling cartoons that grace the pages of his calendars. In his 60 plus years, "A-10" has been a cowboy, a potash miner, a trucker, a professional student and a school teacher. He currently resides in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico where he teaches art at the middle school.

He received the Academy of Western Artists Award for 1998 Cowboy Cartoonist of the Year and in 1999 was admitted into

Cowboy Cartoonists International. He is always searching for a new story to turn into one of his cartoons.
